← Episode #17
I think I first heard IN THE AIR TONIGHT on my MIAMI VICE soundtrack record when I was a child. Great!
My idea was to give the song a blues feel, kind of a gritty gospel blues.
This worked well. My cover version has blues harmonies, a triplet rhythm and a slower tempo. Otherwise, I pretty much stuck to the original, including the addition of 80s robot vocals. Along with the eerie organ, bottleneck guitar and fragile lead vocals, it's a pretty surreal mix.
But listen for yourself …
THE MONKEY TELEGRAM - The Vodcast
So, here we are. My Music Weblog will now have an additional Video Podcast on The MONKEY CHANNEL on YouTube.
Well, I was enthusiastic about film and television from an early age, so I always wanted my own TV show ( A very strange one, of course.) and YouTube is the only place where they let me do it.
What’s it all about?
Aha, I’m glad you ask. Well, it’s basically said in the subtitle:
Making Music In The Twenties Of The 21st Century
Or to put it even more precisely:
It’s all about shameless self-expression. Ha!
… and a lot of music of course.
But I think I can rule out some things. It won’t be about any tech stuff for musicians. You know, so popular videos about How To Do This or That With ProTools or whatever. Read the god damn manual, Jesus!
The Vodcast has mostly the same content as my blog, except that in a weblog you have a few different options than in a video podcast and vice versa. It is definitely good for those who don't feel like reading or don't like to click on links, but just love to watch videos on YouTube.
You can watch
the complete video on Patreon.
So, that’s it for this time.
Don’t miss out to be on again next Sunday for another far out episode of
THE MONKEY TELEGRAM
When it says again: Making Music In The Twenties Of The 21st Century.
